Director of Health Services; Belizean was on a cruise ship that had COVID-19 outbreak

By BBN Staff: Director of Health Services, Dr. Marvin Manzanero said that before being repatriated home to Belize, some cruise ship workers were divided between 7 different cruise ships.

The workers were reportedly on different cruise ships before being brought together into the Rhapsody of the Seas.

Manzanero said that one of the cruise ships, Oasis of the seas had an outbreak of COVID-19 cases.

He also said that the patient that was identified as patient #19 in Belize was tested the first week of April after he began showing flu-like symptoms while he was on Oasis of the seas.

The patient was tested with a rapid test that returned negative.

Belizean health authorities have contacted the attending doctor who confirmed that a test was done and returned negative.
