By BBN Staff:  In today’s press conference, the Prime Minister of Belize, Dean Barrow, reported that there are 14 other possible COVID-19 cases from San Pedro alone.

As the press conference was coming to an end, information was passed to PM Barrow that apart from 3 cases identified earlier today, 12 more cases were identified. There was a scramble as the press conference was coming to an end, but it appeared that 15 cases were identified today and all test results had not come in as yet. According to the Director of Health Services, Dr. Marvin Manzanero, these new cases are related to 2 clusters. Details on the clusters were not immediately available but they are most likely associated with cases in San Pedro and/or Orange Walk.

Later tonight the Ministry of Health is expected to release official information on the total number of cases detected today.

Yesterday a record number of 15 cases were identified, bringing the total number of cases in Belize to 72. With these 15 or more new cases identified today, Belize official COVID-19 tally could reach 87.
