By BBN Staff: Belize has recorded it’s fifth life lost to COVID-19, reports the Ministry of Health (MOH).
The ministry issued an update to the country’s COVID-19 situation today, explaining that the patient died this afternoon while in the
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH), where she had been fighting complications relating to the
virus for a week. The patient represents Belize’s third COVID-19 death in less than seven days.
The Ministry also noted that there are two other patients still hospitalized in the ICU connected to a ventilator, and another two
patients receiving supplementary oxygen.
Meanwhile, one person was discharged today and the KHMH is anticipating a referral from Corozal who is a “highly suspect case.”
