Man formally charged for cutting elderly woman’s throat

By BBN Staff: Police have arrested and charged a Guatemalan man with multiple offenses after slitting an elderly woman’s throat earlier this week.

Santos Edwardo Lopez Zepeda, 25, is charged with attempted murder, use of deadly means of harm, and dangerous harm, after attacking Rosa Delia Chincilla.

The incident happened on Monday near Lindo’s Alley in Belize City. Zepeda reportedly asked Chincilla to borrow some money, and when she refused he attacked her.

Neighborhood residents say they are still shaken by the incident.
