Man robbed at gunpoint in Belize City today

By BBN Staff: A man was robbed whilst walking on the street in Belize City this afternoon.

Dion Grant, 29, told police that he was walking on Jabiru Street around 1:40 p.m. when a man rode up to him on a bicycle and flashed a gun at him and demanded that he hand over his valuables.

Grant said he handed over a cellphone valued at $2,000 and a gold chain valued at $800 to the robber, who then fled in the direction of Freedom Street.

The matter is under police investigation.
