By BBN Staff: The Ministry of Health says that 876 people have recovered from Covid-19 in Belize.

From the 876 people recovered, 409 are females and 467 are males.

The Ministry notes that Belize currently has 710 active cases.

Since the start of the pandemic, Belize has registered 1,606 cases of the virus.

The virus has claimed the lives of 20 people – 7 females and 13 males.

The Ministry of Health has conducted over 12,000 tests and urges Belizeans to take the following protective measures:

  • Clean your hands often.
  • Cough or sneeze in your bent elbow – not your hands!
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
  • Limit social gatherings and time spent in crowded places.
  • Avoid close contact with someone who is sick.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.

The public is reminded to maintain social distancing, practice good hand hygiene, and properly wear masks at all times in public settings. For health-related inquiries, call 0-800-MOH-CARE.
