Posted: Wednesday, October 7, 2020. 9:33 am CST.

By BBN Staff: Jamaica has surpassed 7,000 cases of COVID-19, Caribbean National Weekly reports.

The nation still has a nightly curfew and face masks and social distancing are still mandatory, but there is still a spike in daily cases.

Jamaica has experienced 120 deaths to the virus.

The increase in cases has been attributed to mass gatherings including on election day.

The second wave has since cancelled the reopening of the face to face classes and postponed carnival.
