Man escapes murder attempt unharmed

By BBN Staff: A Belize City man escaped a murder attempt unharmed last night.

Reports are that Akeem Bowen, 31, was exiting La Popular Bakery shortly after 7:00 p.m. when he was approached by a gunman.

Bowen, who was entering his vehicle at the time, took off running and the gunman fired several shots in his direction, none of them making contact.

Scenes of Crime Technicians recovered five expended .9mm shells from the scene.

Police have obtained surveillance footage of the incident and investigations into the matter are ongoing.
