The National Meteorological Service of Belize (Belize Met Service) says that weather conditions will be relatively moist and unstable today but improvements are expected tonight.
The 24-hour forecast calls for mostly cloudy skies today with a few showers, periods of rain, and isolated thunderstorms mainly over coastal, offshore, and southern areas. Partly cloudy skies are expected tonight with showers and thunderstorms decreasing and becoming isolated.
“A flood warning remains in effect for low-lying and flood-prone areas of the country. Residents in the Belize River Valley and downstream areas should remain vigilant as the rising floodwaters move downstream towards the coast,” the Met Service said.
Today’s temperature highs will range from 82 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, to 86 degrees Fahrenheit inland, and 72 degrees Fahrenheit in the hills. Tonight’s temperature lows will range from 74 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, to 70 degrees Fahrenheit inland, and 65 degrees Fahrenheit in the hills.
Winds will be blowing North-Northeast between 5-15 knots, and the sea state will be light chop.
Low tide will begin at 11:40 a.m. and high tide will come in at 5:57 p.m.
The sun will set at 5:15 p.m. and the moon will rise at 1:23 p.m.
