Belize Met Service: Northeasterly airflow bringing clouds and showers today

By BBN Staff: The National Meteorological Service of Belize (Belize Met Service) says that a moist Northeasterly airflow will be over the country today producing cloudy conditions and some showers.

The 24-hour forecast calls for cloudy at times with a few showers and isolated thunderstorms over most areas this morning then mainly over inland areas this afternoon. Tonight will be partly cloudy with isolated showers and isolated thunderstorms.

“A flood warning is in effect for low-lying and flood-prone areas across the country as well as for communities downstream of rivers and streams in the northern, western and central parts of the country,” the Met Service said.

Today’s temperature highs will range from 84 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, to 83 degrees Fahrenheit inland, and 74 degrees Fahrenheit in the hills. Tonight’s temperature lows will range from 77 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, to 70 degrees Fahrenheit inland, and 66 degrees Fahrenheit in the hills.

Winds will be blowing East-Northeast between 5-15 knots, and the sea state will be choppy.

High tide came in at 7:46 a.m. and low tide will begin at 1:39 p.m.

The sun will set at 5:16 p.m. and the moon will rise at 3:05 p.m.
