U.S. Embassy’s Entrepreneur Spotlight is on Vistro’s Aziel Ku

By BBN Staff: Every month, the United States Embassy in Belize highlights outstanding Belizeans.

For February, the U.S. Embassy is putting their entrepreneur spotlight on Aziel Ku.

Ku is the founder of the food delivery service app Vistro.

Vistro was made available in 2018 and was created with the intent of offering people a more reliable and affordable way to order food.

Vistro began operating in Orange Walk and has now expanded to Corozal, Belize City, San Ignacio & Santa Elena with more towns to be added in 2021.

The number of drivers and the customer base has also increased exponentially.

Ku’s responsibilities have also altered since opening. Initially, Aziel was the sole driver, sales agent, dispatcher, in charge of social media presence and programming.

While Aziel still manages day to day operations, he is now primarily in charge of handling expansion, adding additional features and seeking other ventures to participate in.

With the onset of COVID-19 , Aziel recognized the need to adapt and met with several health officers in order to formulate a set of secure policies to handle deliveries whilst protecting both drivers and customers.

Vistro also began offering its services to other areas made necessary by the pandemic prompting them to launch their Supermarket and Stores division as well an Errand Service and Package Delivery division.

Vistro has also launched a Support Local campaign in which food vendors and restaurants can sell from their homes as COVID limited dining options which allows them to continue providing for their customers as well as aiding the economy.

Aziel says that he is excited to continue growing his business and helping the Belizean community in the process. He also hopes to encourage other young entrepreneurs to not give up on their dreams in spite of whatever challenges they may encounter.
