Belize City man charged for possession of cocaine

By BBN Staff: A Belize City man was arraigned in court yesterday for possession of 14.4 grams of cocaine.

Police say that on the night of Tuesday, February 9, they saw Charles Good Jr., 48, riding his bicycle suspiciously on the George Price Highway.

The officers followed him and saw him throw something in the bushes. The officers caught up to him and took him back to where he had thrown the item, and found a plastic bag containing the drugs while searching the area. In court, he was read a single charge of possession of a controlled drug with the intent to supply to another, to which he pleaded not guilty.

The court offered him bail in the sum of $1,500 plus one surety of the same. Good is set to reappear in court on April 14, 2021. Notably, Good is facing a mandatory fine of $10,000 or imprisonment of three years or a combination sentence involving a fine and imprisonment, depending on whether or not he has any previous convictions for the same offense.
