Mark Vernon remanded to prison over unlicensed ammunition

Posted: Friday, February 12, 2021. 12:22 pm CST.

By BBN Staff: Tour guide Mark Vernon, 38, is on remand at the Belize Central Prison this week on a charge of ‘kept ammunition without a gun license.’

Vernon pleaded not guilty to the charge and due to the nature of the offense, he was denied bail and remanded. He is set to return to court on May 12, 2021.

Police say that on February 10, cops found Vernon in Belize City, in possession of five live rounds of ammunition.

Vernon, who is no stranger to law enforcement, has several matters before the court for offenses of possession of controlled drugs, several bicycle offenses, a charge of violence against a witness, and a previous charge for kept unlicensed ammunition.
