CARICOM Heads of Government re-emphasize support for Belize’s sovereignty and territorial integrity

By BBN Staff: During the 32nd Inter-Sessional meeting of the conference of Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), Prime Minister Briceño updated his colleagues on the recent developments between Belize and Guatemala.

CARICOM Heads of Government re-emphasized their steadfast support for the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and security of Belize.

In addition, following the agreed amendment to the rotation schedule for the Chairmanship of CARICOM, Belize is scheduled to take up the chairmanship on January 1, 2022.

Accompanying Briceno in the meeting held virtually were Eamon Courtenay, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade, and Immigration; Ambassador Amalia Mai, Chief Executive Officer in the Ministry; Lawrence Sylvester, Ambassador of Belize to CARICOM; and other senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and Immigration.
