Conchshell Bay men charged for torturing minor

By BBN Staff: Police have officially arrested and charged three men in connection with a disturbing incident that happened over the weekend, in which a minor was tortured while the acts were being recorded live to Facebook.

Officers say that on Sunday, police jointly charged Oliver Sutherland, Elvin Smith, and Axia Sanchez for ‘attempted murder’ and ‘kidnapping’. Sutherland and Smith were additionally charged jointly for wounding.

The very graphic video showed a brutal beating being committed upon the minor and on numerous occasions, the accused showed themselves on camera and identified themselves.

Commissioner of Police Chester Williams has pleaded with the public not to share the video to further victimize the minor and has also noted that sharing such is an offense under the Laws of Belize.
