BREAKING: NTUCB President slams PUP Government at Commission of Inquiry into sale of Government assets

Posted: Thursday, April 15, 2021. 10:13 am CST.

By BBN Staff: This morning, the Commission of Inquiry into the sale of Government assets resumed.

However, just as the hearing commenced, President of the National Trade Union Congress of Belize (NTUCB), Luke Martinez, began slamming the Government for continuing the sale of government’s assets in the same fashion as the last government.

“The PSU wishes to express its outright disappointment in the Government of Belize for what we respectfully consider a mockery of the Commission of Inquiry, as we continue to witness the fire-sale of government assets whilst this process is ongoing,” Martinez said.

Coincidentally, during Martinez speech, the Government’s live stream ended and has not resumed.

Martinez said that they have continued to witness the fire-sale of vehicles, aircrafts, and guns to Chief Executive Officers and Ministers without following the proper public disposal process.
