Mayan Solar Engineers meet US Chargé d’Affaires

By Zoila Palma: Mayan Solar Engineers, Florentina, Miriam and Cristina met with U.S. Chargé d’Affaires, a.i. Keith Gilges on Saturday in Toledo.

The women have installed solar power in 40 homes in remote indigenous communities in the Toledo District.

Florentina, Miriam, and Cristina were trained in solar engineering in India and have recently formed a new solar power business — Belize Power Connect, Limited.

 Chargé Gilges received a demonstration of how they install solar power systems, bringing affordable power to their communities.
