Corozal residents busted with over 30 pounds of weed near Orange Walk

By Benjamin Flowers: Two Corozal residents have been arrested and charged by police for drug trafficking.

Police say that Eugene Myers, 31, and Veronica Beatriz Pineda, 25, were driving through a vehicle checkpoint on the outskirts of Carmelita Village, Orange Walk District, when authorities conducted a search on their vehicle.

During the search, cops found a suitcase that contained 14 transparent parcels each containing cannabis amounting to 33.6 pounds or 15,260 kilograms of marijuana.

Police charged Myers and Pineda jointly for the offense of Possession of Controlled Drugs with Intent to Supply to Another.
