Crooked Tree’s Brilliant beat Isabella’s Banks Rural Mix 213-212

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Brilliant of Crooked Tree, who had not played a competitive match in more than a year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, on Saturday beat Isabella’s Banks Rural Mix 213-212 at Isabella bank and took the lead in the Belize National Cricket Association’s Finals for the Barry Bowen/Garrison Parks Championship Cup.

Isabella Bank’s Rural Mix batted first with an outstanding performance by Randy Rhaburn who hit eight sixes and six fours, scored 95 runs. Derick Hendy added 43 runs while Marcel Nugent scored 15 and Dudley Hendy added 14.

Rural Mix saw all their wickets fall after 43.3 overs in which they scored 212 runs.

Keagan Tillet and Lawrence Banner Jr took 4 wickets for Brilliant while Nathan Banner and Kristan Tillett two wickets each.

Brilliant won the game with eight wickets and 38.2 overs after scoring 213 runs.

Their top scorer was Nathan Banner with 41 runs. Keagan Tillet scored 31, Jaheim Webster 28 and Lawrence Banner Jr 21, Brandon Lewis 14, Shane Westby 13, and Ravin Gillett 10.

Dudley Hendy bowled six wickets and Derick Hendy took three for Rural Mix.

Brilliant are favorites to take the championship with Game Two being set for Saturday at 10 am at their homefield in Crooked Tree.
