Prime Minister wishes Happy Africa Day!

By Zoila Palma: Today is being celebrated as Africa Day. The day is formerly known as African Freedom Day and is the annual commemoration of the founding of the Organization of African Unity.

This year’s theme is Arts, Culture And Heritage: Levers for Building the Africa We Want.

Amidst a global pandemic, the celebration is being commemoration on the African continent and around the world.

Mayor of Belmopan Sharon Palacio and Councilor Hope Amadi joined in celebrating by hosting pre-african day celebrations in Belmopan.

Prime Minister John Briceno also extended wishes saying “From the dawn of civilization, Africa has left its indelible mark on our world. To a continent of many peoples so full of life, love and vibrance, Happy Africa Day! #AfricaUnion #AfricaDay2021”.
