National Emergency Management Organization hosts the press ahead of hurricane season

Posted: Wednesday, May 26, 2021. 2:42 pm CST.

By Aaron Humes: The National Emergency Management Organization (NEMO) is holding a sensitization session with press at its headquarters in Belmopan.

Hurricane season begins on June 1 and as usually happens around this time, the organization is announcing its plans and objectives as well as official prognosis for the 2021 hurricane season.

The season is expected to be an active one on the heels of the most active season in the history of tracking hurricanes and their devastating effects.

Presenters include NEMO Coordinator Shelton Defour, Chief Meteorologist Ronald Gordon and Minister of Sustainable Development, Climate Change and Disaster Risk Management, Orlando Habet.

More as it happens.
