By Zoila Palma: Last month, the price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), referred to as butane in Belize, saw a decrease in prices due to lower acquisition and freight costs.
But on Friday, the Belize Bureau of Standards informed that the wholesale price for LPG will now be $3.72, up from $3.39 and representing a 33 cents increase.
In urban areas, the retail price is now $1.21 per pound or $5.32 per gallon, up from $4.99 per gallon.
Prices in the rural areas are now $1.23 per pound or $5.42 per gallon, up from $5.09 per gallon.
