D&A/Guydis Canoes win the Father’s Day Canoe Race

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: On Sunday, D&A/Guydis Canoes, comprised of Wilberto Daniels and Ramon Gillett, won the Father’s Day Canoe Race, the first race organized by the Belize Canoe Association after the lifting of restrictions on non-contact sports.

The Father’s Day Boom to Manatee Lookout Canoe Race, organized by the Belize Canoe Association (BCA), started at the Riverside Park in Burrell Boom and finished at Manatee Lookout.

The BCA said the race was exclusively C2 (2 paddlers per canoe) considering the COVID-19 regulations.

Amariba’s finished in second place and Big Deal 3rd.

The Top Three were also the top Men’s teams.

Vanilla Hills Lodge secured the 4th spot and Joseph and Taylor Steelers 5th.

Western Invaydez came in 6th, Bee Stingers 7th, Salt and Pepper 7th, Grumpy Young Thing 8th, 8807 made it in the 9th position and Grumpy Old Men were 10th.

Joseph and Taylor topped the Masters Category followed by 8807 and Grumpy Old Men.

Western Invaydez were the first Mixed paddlers followed by Salt and Pepper and Grumpy Young Thing.
