Southern Communities on lockdown will receive food packages and stipend of $150

By Zoila Palma: Today, the Government of Belize informed that it has implemented a lockdown order for Conejo, Midway, and Barranco villages in the Toledo District.

The lockdown is effective today for an initial period of two weeks.

A curfew specific to these villages will also be in effect as of today from 8:00 p.m. to 4:59 a.m.

The Ministry of Health and Wellness informed that it will be providing food packages to every household in these communities for the duration of the lockdown.

The ministry will also be assisting with a weekly stipend of $150 per household.

The health teams will be led by Dr. Franelda Gutierrez, regional manager of the Southern Health Region.

Everyone is invited to get vaccinated.
