By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Ministry of Health and Wellness said that 3,039 persons were vaccinated on Friday, July 16, 2021, bringing the total of fully vaccinated to 42,300.

113,596 persons in Belize have now received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccines.

Belize started the vaccination campaign with Astra Zeneca vaccines but is now vaccinating with both the Astra Zeneca and Sinopharm vaccines.

The Ministry of Health has a goal of 270,000 vaccinated persons.

While you can just show up at a vaccination center, you may also register for your Covid-19 vaccination appointment online at https://vrsa.health.gov.bz/.

The Ministry said it’s now vaccinating any person 18 years and older.

Additionally, the Ministry of Health said that “persons who have been vaccinated for at least 8 weeks are asked to visit any Ministry of Health and Wellness’ health facility to get their second dose of the vaccine.”

The Ministry of Health also advises that “even after getting vaccinated, persons are to continue wearing a face mask properly in public, maintain consistent physical distancing, avoid social gatherings, and wash and sanitize hands often. Please be safe and stay at home unless conducting essential business.”
