Two killed in a shootout on Kraal Road

By Aaron Humes: Police are investigating a double homicide reported on Sunday night in Belize City.

24-year-old Gary Young of Kraal Road and 31-year-old Matthew Guy, also of Kraal Road, were separately brought to Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital with gunshot injuries; both subsequently succumbed to their injuries.

Police say Young and others were hanging out at the corner of Kraal Road and Hinds Street when they were shot at by one of two approaching men. Young tried to flee on a bicycle toward Neal Pen Road but fell after about 200 feet.

Shortly thereafter, more gunshots rang out and Guy was hit and mortally injured.
