Police investigating the burning down of officer’s house in Santa Familia

By BBN Staff: While residents of Santa Familia will not be charged with burning tires in the village, police are investigating a case of arson where an officer’s house was burned down yesterday.

The house belonged to Police Constable #1189 Juan Carlos Morales, who was involved in the shooting death of Santa Familia resident Jesse Escobar.

Commissioner of Police Chester Williams commented on the issue today, stressing that the villagers were allowed to burn tires as the police were sympathizing with their pain, but the house was another matter entirely.

“That is an outright criminal matter, damage to property, and if we find the person responsible, then that person will be charged,” Williams said.

Morales had already moved his family from the house at the time it was burned down.
