Ashley Meighan and Clement Bol will stand trial for the murder of Chryslin Gladden

Posted: Monday, September 13, 2021. 11:41 pm CST.

By BBN Staff: The Supreme Court has decided that Ashley Meighan and Clement Bol will stand trial for the August 2014 murder of Chryslin Gladden.

Today, after considering a no case submission made by the attorneys of the defendants, Oscar Selgado, who represents Bol, and Senior Crown Counsel, Ellis Arnold, who represents Meighan, Justice Antionette Moore decided that they have a case to answer for and rejected the submission.

The prosecution’s two main witnesses, George Maskall and Courtney Zelaya, never made it to trial; however, their witness statements were admitted into evidence.

Maskall’s badly decomposed body was recovered from a lagoon in Seine Bight back in 2015, while Zelaya said that she did not want to testify because she was in fear of her life.

The murder trial began on July 12, and the prosecution closed its case on July 22. The defense will now have to respond to the accusations against them.
