Prime Minister John Briceño brings 100,000 vaccines donated by Mexico

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Prime Minister John Briceño concluded his one-week State Visit to Mexico on Saturday morning and returned home with 100,000 COVID-19 vaccines, courtesy of the Mexican Government.

The Prime Minister was accompanied during the honour departure ceremony by general directors Martín Borrego Llorente and Iker Jiménez along with Margarita Alcántara, chief of the Sub-Ministry of Multi-Lateral Affairs and Human Rights Office in the Mexico Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“As a sign of Mexican solidarity and in keeping with the international requirement of universal and opportune access to biological products against the pandemic, Mexico is sending 100,000 COVID-19 vaccine doses for the Belizean people,” said the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a social media post.

After participating in Mexico 200th anniversary of their Independence on Monday night, the Prime Minister and his delegation had high-level meetings with Mexico’s president Andrés Manuel López Obrador, Bank of Mexico, Fonatur – Mexico’s Toruism Board, and the Ministry of Agriculture, among others.
