Minister’s son detained and faces charges after unlicensed firearm allegedly used in murder was retrieved

By BBN Staff: An ex-policeman who is the son of a sitting Minister of State has been detained by police in connection with the murder of Joevanni Augustine which occurred on Saturday.

The ex-policeman is facing charges for unlicensed firearm and unlicensed ammunition after police recovered the firearm that was allegedly used in Saturday’s murder of Joevanni Augustine that occurred on Currasow Street in Belize City. Breaking Belize News (BBN) could not independently confirmed if the ex-cop has already been charged and as such his name is being withheld until we confirm that the charges have been formally laid.

The ex-policemen is expected to be arraigned in court on Monday.
