Body recovered from Macal River

By Aaron Humes: San Ignacio Police have recovered a body from the Macal River this morning.

The body was found floating in the Macal River, approximately half a mile down from the wooden bridge. It was fair-skinned, approximately 5’ 5” in height, and in mid-40’s.

No signs of violence were observed on the body.

The body was transported to the Belize National Forensic Science Service Laboratory pending a postmortem examination. The identity of the body is unknown.

No missing person report has been filed in San Ignacio at present as the police investigation continues.
