Belmopan ambulance broken into and vandalized

Posted: Wednesday, October 27, 2021. 11:14 am CST.

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Belmopan Emergency Service (BES) reported that someone broke into one of its ambulances in the middle of the night and vandalized the vehicle.

The vehicle was parked at the BES headquarters on Cardinal Avenue with its door open as is the custom to be able to respond immediately to emergencies.

The BES posted the video on social media showing the state of the interior of the ambulance after the break-in on Friday night, October 22, 2021.

“Friday night someone came inside the ambulance, and they just started to turn things upside down. What they were searching for, I have no idea,” said a BES representative who narrated the video and who said that from what he could see nothing was taken, though the inside of the ambulance was sprayed with starter fluid.

The BES said that they would take more security measures to ensure this doesn’t happen again.
