GoFundMe campaign launched to help Belizean cancer patient

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to help Belizean cancer patient, Ana Teresita Romero.

Romero who is originally from Corozal, presently resides in Waukegan, Illinois, in the United States.

She has been diagnosed with ovarian cancer and needs US$35,000 for treatment at a hospital in Libertyville, Illinois.

GoFundMe says Estevan Campos initiated the campaign to assist Ana who is 66 years of age.

“Please keep my family lifted up in your prayers. We have been dealt an excruciating blow and have a long battle ahead of us towards recovery. As some of you know, Ana was recently diagnosed with cancer,” says the GoFundMe campaign.

“Immediately following her diagnosis, her team of doctors began a series of tests so they can attempt to begin her treatment immediately in hopes that she can feel better soon.”

Ana Romero is currently at home with her family but needs treatment and special care.

Campos said, “I would like to ask any friends or family members that are capable to please consider donating to this GoFundMe page that I am organizing for Ana and her family. We want to Focus 100% on her, without worries or stress from mounting bills or missed wages. This would be a huge weight to remove from our family already burdened minds. With her being home she requires around the clock care. With that being said, this GoFundMe page will also help with trying to afford bringing in some in home assistance as the family has been doing it on their own.”

So far, the GoFundMe campaign has raised $420.00 after six days.
