Simone Biles considers leaving gymnastics

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Simone Biles, who has seven Olympic medals, including four gold, one silver, and two bronze medals, plus 19 gold medals in World Championships, is considering leaving the sport she loves so much at 24 years of age.

She’d leave it all for peace of mind she told US Weekly.

“The mental aspect obviously got me during Tokyo,” said Biles, who, affected with mental health issues, decided to withdraw after the first event and didn’t compete again until the last one.

“It’s, like, some of those things you can’t ignore, and my body didn’t ignore. If we can keep that under control, I would love to train again,” she said.

“But then, at the end of the day, if it costs me my peace, I’m going to step away. And I’m completely fine with stepping away because I’ve been through so much. I’ve accomplished so much.”
