Belize National Cricket Team wins only one match in ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Americas Qualifier

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Belize National Men’s Cricket Team won only one match and lost five at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Americas Qualifier in Antigua and Barbuda finishing in seventh place.

Belize’s only win at the regional qualifier came over Panama with losses to the US, Canada, Argentina, the Bahamas, and Bermuda.

The United States (6-0) won the tournament and the first qualifying berth to the World Cup global qualifiers.

Canada grabbed the second qualifying ticket finishing with a 5-1 record beating Panama by 208 runs, 245/1 to 37, on Sunday in their final game.

Bermuda won their last game by three wickets over Argentina 131/7 to 130/5 in 19.2 overs and took third place with a 4-2 record.

Argentina finished 4th at 2-4 while Bahamas also at 2-4 was 5th.

Panama and Belize finished with a 1-5 each, but based on the net run rate, Panama placed 6th and Belize, 7th.
