By Rubén Morales Iglesias: As schools open for face-to-face education on Monday, January 10, the Ministry of Health & Wellness (MOHW) said in a statement on social media that, in partnership with the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science & Technology (MoECST) and the Belize Red Cross Society, it is painting murals at several primary schools countrywide to remind children of the importance of handwashing and the steps to be carried out to ensure proper handwashing.
“This is especially important at this time as schools prepare to reopen for hybrid learning. Let’s work together to ensure a safe reopening of schools and stop the spread of Covid19,” said the Ministry of Health and Wellness.
The MOHW has been collaborating closely with the Ministry of Education in a public health campaign to keep Belize’s student population, particularly at the primary school level, safe from COVID-19.
