Hospitalizations and ICU patient figures rise entering weekend

By Aaron Humes: There has been a rise both in the number of total hospitalizations and ICU patients with COVID-19 in the last 24 hours as noted in the daily COVID-19 update from the Ministry of Health and Wellness.

17 persons are hospitalized with COVID-19, an increase of six from Thursday, while six persons are in intensive care, up two from Thursday’s report.

There has been an increase in the number of fully vaccinated persons both hospitalized and in the ICU. Five hospitalized patients are unvaccinated, three are partially vaccinated and eight are fully vaccinated with another of uncertain status.

Among ICU patients four are fully vaccinated, one partially vaccinated and one unvaccinated.
