Aspire for Greatness Foundation preparing to launch breakfast feeding program for southside Belize City high schools

By Benjamin Flowers: The Aspire For Greatness Foundation (AGF), led by popular media personality and former Belize City Mayoral candidate Orson Picard, is preparing to launch a new feeding program initiative for students at three high schools on the south side of Belize City.

The initiative kicks off on February 8 at Excelsior High School, with the two other participating schools to be announced in the coming weeks. Under the program, the AGF will provide the groceries/ingredients for the schools which will then prepare breakfast for 30 selected students four times a week.

“The reason why we started off with breakfast is because we realize that this is going to be a pilot that we want to see how well it can be sustained for the entire school year 2022. So from February to June and from August to December,” Picard said.

He added that the initiative is being supported by Belizeans at home and within the diaspora and noted that their assistance is essential to the AFG being able to positively impact the lives of students on the south side.

Picard also noted that this year the AGF will also be carrying out follow-ups to its initiatives last year, including its backpack drive and tablet drive for students. The backpack drive last year saw the distribution of 375 school bags and this year Picard said the foundation is aiming for 400.
