Public officers trained in first response

Posted: Friday, February 11, 2022. 10:05 pm CST.

By Aaron Humes: Training in first response has been delivered to 25 officers in key ministries under a program funded by the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) in support of Belize’s Second Road Safety Project.

Officers in the Ministry of Health and Wellness; the Department of Transport, Municipal Traffic Department, and Island Emergency Services met at the BELTRAIDE compound, Belize City and George Price Center, Belmopan, to learn how to be road users that are skilled and competent, alert and unimpaired, and comply with road rules. This training was carried out by instructor Javier Canul from ABC Life Support.

This collaborative effort of the Government of Belize and the Caribbean Development Bank supports interventions to build the country’s road safety management capacity, improve the safety of road infrastructure and improving post-crash care.

The training was sponsored by the Belize Second Road Safety Project, within the Ministry of Economic Development.
