National Subchampions Rumberas open second NAWL football weekend against formidable Sagitun GIRLZ in Independence on Saturday

National Subchampions Rumberas will play their first game in the National Amateur Women’s League A on Saturday against the formidable Sagitun GIRLZ.

The Independence-side shocked National Champs Jewel Fury 2-1 last weekend. Now that they’ve tasted blood, they want more.

Rumberas didn’t play on opening week because there are five teams in League A and weekly a team will have to rest. Whichever way, they are hungry for action and need to make a statement against their Southern neighbours.

Expect a great game on Saturday at 3:00 pm at the Michael Ashcroft Stadium.

For their part, hurting after last week’s loss, champs Jewel Fury will be playing like an angry tiger against the San Pedro Pirates at the Isidoro Beaton Stadium in Belmopan at 4:00 pm on Saturday as well.

The Pirates are coming off a 1-0 win over the Verdes Rebels and are intent on taking down the champs as well.
