Sagitun GIRLZ clash with Rumberas looking for revenge on Saturday at Independence

The Sagitun GIRLZ clash with their next-door neighbors Rumberas on Saturday at the Michael Ashcroft Stadium in Independence at 4:00 pm.

National subchamps Rumberas defeated Sagitun GIRLZ 2-0 at the Michael Ashcroft Stadium on Saturday, March 26, in the first round of the 2022 National Amateur Women’s League A championship.

Carlene Tillett in the 61st minute and Roshanny Narvaez in the 89th gave Rumberas the win.

Since then, Sagitun has improved and now lead Rumberas in the standings though the subchamps have a game less.

It’s revenge time with the Sagitun GIRLZ in the second position sporting nine points from five games after three wins and two losses. Rumberas are in the third spot with seven points from two wins, a draw, and a loss.

A win will put the Sagitun GIRLZ at 12 points and, depending on the performance of present leades Jewel Fury (10) against the San Pedro Pirates (7) at San Pedro, could very well place them at the top. A draw would keep them in the second spot but a loss could knock them down in the standings.

Runberas are looking for a second win over their archrivals. That would move them up to the second spot.

So, expect an extremely competitive that may well be decided in the final minutes.
