‘Tour guides can still renew their licenses without completing their core module courses,’ says Belize Tourism Board

By Benjamin Flowers: Tour guides looking to renew their licenses in July will still be able to do so even if they have not completed their professional core tour guide training, according to an official release from the Belize Tourism Board.

The BTB said that guides seeking renewal will not be affected due to non-completion but that the Board is making the training more accessible to tour guides by arranging courses this year for those who have not completed them.

“As a result, we encourage all interested current tour guides to take advantage of these courses when made available. All new and incoming tour guides are required to complete both the general and professional core modules in order to be eligible for a tour guide license,” the BTB said.

The BTB added that the courses form a part of a greater effort to improve Belize’s tourism product, and encouraged any tour guide with questions to call 227-2420 ext. 245 and 292 for more information or send an email to [email protected].
