Three new cooperatives hold their First Meetings in Orange Walk, Corozal

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Department of Co-operatives said on Friday that the three recently registered cooperatives have held their First Meetings.

“The First Meeting is a legal requirement under the Co-operative Societies Act,” said Registrar of Co-operatives Gareth Murillo.

“It serves to record the start of the business of the co-operative and for the election of the Management Committee.”

According to Murillo, the Concepcion Vegetable Farmers Co-operative held its First Meeting at Concepcion Village, Corozal, on the afternoon of Thursday, June 16. Today Friday, both the Orange Walk Beekeepers Co-operative and Northern Sustainable Agro producers Co-operative held their First Meeting. The Orange Walk Beekeepers met at Yo Creek, Orange Walk, and Northern Agro producers did so at Patchakan, Corozal.
