Corozal’s Bay City whip Santa Elena Strikers 11-0, secure spot NAWL B Finals

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Corozal’s Bay City FC whipped the Santa Elena Strikers 11-0 and for all intents and purposes secured a spot in the National Amateur Women’s League Finals.

Bay City were simply merciless over the Strikers at the Norman Broaster Stadium in San Ignacio in the first leg of the NAWL B semifinals on Saturday.

The NAWL B top scorer Anahie Blanco hit four times in the 14’, 38’, 46’, and 56’.

Aaliyah Herbert added a hat trick in the 20’, 27’, and the 47’. Kaite Jones also came up with a hat trick of her own nailing the Strikers’ keeper in the 29’, 31’, and 79’

Darina Tzul added the other in the 19’.

With such a margin of victory and considering the regular season results, this coming Saturday’s match at the Santiago Ricalde Stadium in Corozal will just be a formality.
