By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Belize Volleyball Association (BVA) is hosting the U-21 Women’s Central American Volleyball Championship from July 12-16.
All games will be played at the Belize City Civic Center.
Five Central American countries are participating in the regional championship under the umbrella of the Central American Volleyball Federations’ Association (AFECAVOL). Panama had declined participating this time around and Costa Rica withdrew recently.
Honduras are the defending champions. They won the last tournament held in 2019 when they hosted. Guatemala won the silver medal and El Salvador took the bronze.
“Come support our team in this international volleyball championship. Team Belize is strong and will defend Belize on home turf, but your support will make the difference!” said the BVA in a social media post.
The competition will be livestreamed by The National Channel 10 on Facebook and YouTube.
Teams arrive in Belize on July 10 for the competition which starts on July 12.
Two games will play every day with Belize playing at 7:30 pm. All teams will have one rest day.
