By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Under-15 Belize Girls National Football Team (BGNT) fell 0-3 to Martinique on Monday in their second match in Group C of League B in the 2022 Concacaf Girls’ U-15 Championship (CGU15C) in Tampa, Florida.

The U-15 BGNT was hopeful of emulating the good start on Sunday when they defeated Anguilla 3-1 at the Hillsborough County Tournament Sportsplex in Tampa, but the Martinique team was rather strong dominating the course of the game.

Today, Bermuda also got a 3-0 win over Anguilla.

Martinique now lead the group with six points after edged Bermuda 1-0 on Sunday as well.

Belize and Bermuda have a 1-1 record but by virtue of Belize’s loss and Bermuda’s ample win today, Bermuda are in second place and Belize in third.

Belize will close Group C action against Bermuda on Wednesday, August 3 at 11:00 am (9:00 am Belize).

In other games today, action got started in League A with Mexico blanking invited guests Wales 2-0 and the Dominican Republic whitewashing Costa Rica 3-0 in Group A.

In Group B, champions United States routed Puerto Rico 12-0 and Canada romped over Jamaica 5-0.

In the other League B games, Honduras beat the US Virgin Islands 4-1 in Group D which also saw Aruba thrash the Bahamas 10-0.

In Group E, Nicaragua made easy work of Turks and Caicos blanking them 4-0 while the Cayman Islands downed Guyana 3-1.
