By Rubén Morales Iglesias: “The Nohoch Che’en and ATM (Actun Tunichil Muknal) Archaeological Reserves are presently closed due to elevated river conditions,” said the Institute of Archaeology (NICH) Belize on Thursday.

Nohoch Che’en and the ATM Caves have been closed since Tuesday.

The Institute said that all other archaeological reserves in Belize remain open for visits.

“The IA/NICH will continue to monitor river conditions and provide necessary updates,” said the Institute of Archaeology.

The IA/NICH also advised visitors to all archaeological reserves “to exercise caution at all times”.
