Tourism Police Unit receives new motorcycles and bicycles

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: On Monday, August 15, the Tourism Police Unit received a donation of 8 motorcycles and 10 bicycles.

The motorcycles and bikes were jointly donated by the Belize Tourism Board, the Diaspora Unit of the Ministry of Tourism, and the Sustainable Tourism Program II.

Minister of Tourism and Diaspora Relations, Anthony Mahler officially handed over the donation.

The items were received by Commissioner of Police, Chester Williams.

Officials from the Ministry of Tourism, the Belize Tourism Board, and the Tourism police unit attended the ceremony.

“The motorcycles and bicycles will aid the Tourism Police Unit’s monitoring efforts and security measures at various tourism destinations across Belize,” the BTB said.
