By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Government of India through the Pan American Health Organization/World Health Organization (Paho/WHO) and the United Nations on Wednesday handed over medical equipment to the Ministry of Health and Wellness (MOHW).
“The Ministry of Health & Wellness in partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs – Belize, the Indian Government, Paho/WHO and the United Nations office for South-south Cooperation (UNOSSC) held a second visibility activity for the Indian-UN Development Partnership Grant today at the Biltmore Plaza Hotel in Belize City,” said a Ministry of Health and Wellness in a social media post on Wednesday.
The MOHW said the partnership has benefited Belize’s health facilities with over BZ$2 million worth of key medical equipment to help strengthen the response capacity of the health system to Covid-19.
“Some of the equipment included ECG machines, patient monitors, incubators, suction machines, emergency carts and delivery beds among others,” said the Ministry of Health.
The Ministry said that it is very appreciative of the partnership and support that India offers through the Honorary Consulate to Belize.
