By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Forecasters at the National Hurricane Center (NHC) are closely monitoring Hurricane Danielle, Tropical Storm Earl, and 2 more disturbances in the Atlantic.
Hurricane Danielle has slowed down over the north-central Atlantic.
Maximum sustained winds are near 75 mph (120 km/h) with higher gusts. Gradual weakening is forecast during the next several days.
Tropical Storm Earl appeared a bit disheveled this morning, the NHC noted.
However, Earl could still strengthen to a hurricane over the next couple of days.
Maximum sustained winds are near 65 mph (100 km/h) with higher gusts.
Over the eastern Tropical Atlantic, an area of disorganized showers and thunderstorms persist from the Cabo Verde Islands southwestward several hundred miles in association with a broad area of low pressure.
Environmental conditions are conducive to some development of this system, and a tropical depression could form in a few days.
On the African Coast, a tropical wave located over western Africa is forecast to emerge offshore into the eastern Atlantic in a day or two.
Environmental conditions appear generally conducive for some slow development thereafter as the system moves west-northwestward over the eastern tropical Atlantic.
